As part of the 9th Lire le monde festival, taking place in South Corsica from July 18 to 22, a percussion concert with Adélaide Ferrière and a conference with Mâkhi Xenakis will be held on the evening of Sunday July 21.

Sainte-Lucie-de-Tallano – Couvent – Sous les mûriers – 9:30 pm Soirée Xenakis
An evening in two parts, linked by the name of Xenakis. Interview with Mâkhi Xenakis, designer, sculptor and author. In 1988, she received a scholarship to the Villa Médicis in New York, where she had a decisive encounter with the artist Louise Bourgeois. Since then, her work has been regularly exhibited and features in private and public collections such as the Centre Georges Pompidou, the Manufacture de Sèvres, the Gobelins and the FRAC. His books are published by Actes Sud. An exhibition is dedicated to him in the large hall of the Sainte-Lucie-de-Tallano convent, on the first floor of the media library.

Concert: “Rebonds”, by Iannis Xenakis, by Adélaïde Ferrière (member of the Xenakis trio), 12′ A work in two parts, for solo percussionist, premiered in Rome in 1988. “The use of percussion is one of Xenakis’s many ways of getting off the beaten track of usual pitches” (Cécile Gilly, IRCAM website – Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique / Musique).”
